We have spent several evenings transferring the instructions from the "Tour Daybook" provided by the Camping and Caravan Club onto maps and adding links to key information onto our own digital guide to the trip.  Keep getting sidetracked as we discover some exciting YouTube videos of places we shall be visiting.  The more research we do the harder it becomes to decide what we look forward to the most.  So I guess it will have to be all of it.  Here is a bit of a taster of a walk which is on our list!

With three weeks to go before we depart the tickets, paperwork, guides and badges have arrived.  Yes you read correctly "the badges".  Not our usual kind of holiday.  This time we are off to the USA and taking a Camping and Caravan Club escorted tour.  Hence the badges!  OK you know us well and we don't usually do this kind of thing, but as this trip visits almost all the places we wanted to visit in the SW of the US we just had to go for it.  And no we don't drive in convoy.

We fly from London Gatwick to Las Vegas and then pick up an RV and head off on a grand tour of the sites and National Parks of the region including Zion and Bryce Canyon, Jackson Hole and the Tetons before entering Yellowstone.  Then we cross the "wild west" to visit Mount Rushmore, Denver, Colorado Springs, Durango (and Silverton by narrow gauge steam railway), Cortez and Mesa Verde National Park, Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon, a drive on Route 66 and back to Vegas.

I shall try to keep this record up to date as we progress but it will depend on access to WiFi and how much I'm just experiencing everything!
